Chiropractic for Veterans
Are You Eligible for Chiropractic Care Through DVA?
Chiropractic for Veterans: this information describes how you can access chiropractic services for the treatment of conditions caused by musculoskeletal issues.
The use of chiropractic care in treating musculoskeletal problems aims to increase movement of joints, restore mobility, alleviate pain and muscle tightness, and helps tissues to heal.
Chiropractors commonly help with the following conditions:
- Back pain
- Neck pain
- Headaches and migraines
- Poor posture
- Sciatica or nerve pain
- Injury relating to the musculoskeletal system
This Sounds Like What I Need, How do I Access This Service?
To access chiropractic care through your DVA (Department of Veterans’ Affairs) health care, you must be referred to a chiropractic clinic (such as Chirolife Rosanna) that is able to provide these services. You may be referred by a:
- Local GP
- Medical specialist
- Treating doctor in hospital
- Chiropractor with a current referral
Your referral is active for 12 months and entitles you to a number of chiropractic visits as determined by the chiropractor, in accordance with your assessed clinical needs.
Am I Eligible for Chiropractic with a White or Gold DVA Card?
Both Gold Card and White Card DVA holders are eligible for chiropractic care. For more information about your card, please refer to The Department of Veterans’ Affairs website and fact sheets below.
Do I Need to Pay for Treatment?
No, you do not need to pay for chiropractic services redeemed through the DVA program. It is an entitlement, if you are eligible. If you choose to use other services offered in clinic, or buy retail products from the business, you will need to pay the clinic for these.
