Like many young adults I was unclear about what career path I wanted to follow. I knew I wanted to help and serve people.
Having grown up in South Africa I spent hundreds of hours in the African bush and loved being around nature. I always expected to become a vet working with African wildlife. This wasn’t to be the case as my family immigrated to Australia when I was 14 years old.
After finishing school I went to Monash University to study science. This gave me the time to get clarity on what I wanted to do. After much sole searching, and having experienced chiropractic as a patient, the decision was made – I wanted to become a Doctor of Chiropractic.
Over the years I have been a clinician at the School of Chiropractics teaching clinics for student chiropractors. I have taught chiropractic technique for nine years and acted as a final year examiner for the School of Chiropractic.
I opened my first chiropractic clinic and have never looked back!
On Personal Struggles
I had been an asthmatic since I was 3 years old and had experienced both medical and chiropractic care. What really got me excited about chiropractic was that chiropractic philosophy was very much aligned with nature.
Chiropractic has helped me overcome several injuries I sustained while playing rugby. What was also beneficial was that I was able to train harder and longer when under chiropractic care.
My Inspiration and Motivation
I am inspired by seeing others succeed. One of the greatest benefits of being a chiropractor is seeing people not only get better but go onto doing things they thought they never would or could again.
Here at Chirolife Rosanna, I’m motivated by seeing the changes in my patients while are under chiropractic care. Some of the changes I’ve seen are truly inspirational and awe inspiring. To regain your health and your positive outlook on life – it doesn’t get better than that.
I get a real buzz from having my elderly patients come in and tell me that they can’t do this or that because of some problem they have and then to see them several weeks to months later getting back into gardening, walking, playing with their grand-children or whatever takes their fancy.
This could be as simple as someone who had to give up golf due to a health complaint, only to return to the fairway several months later in fine form.
It could be one of my younger members who recently won gold in an international gymnastics tournament.
It’s a Complex World – How Can Chiropractic Help?
Chiropractic in it’s essence is to allow the human body to function at its best. If everyone on the planet was adjusted I believe humanity would be healthier, less stressed, less sick and above all have a more fulfilling life.
I like to think that after you have experienced chiropractic care, I can help you learn to trust in your body’s ability to heal itself. Knowing that the brain, tissues and organs are communicating better than they were before. This, in turn, means that function should improve and healing takes place.
Why Should You Choose Me as Your Chiropractor?
It's simple: being a good diagnostician means I am a good listener. This allows me to identify what is going on accurately and then to make a clinical decision as to whether you will benefit from chiropractic care or not.
Assuming that I can help you, my ability to adjust well will help get you back on track as quickly as possible.
Imagine what you could be doing with your life that you can’t do now. Whether it’s enjoying your favourite sport, being more efficient and productive at work or even something as simple as enjoying a walk around the block or down to your favourite park.
Don’t let that reoccurring health complaint, that ache or that injury stop you from getting as much out of life as you deserve to be.
My Goal for Chirolife
- To be a place of healing that people enjoy and look forward to coming too.
- To offer the best possible services that result in fantastic results.
- To have patients that understand the importance of looking after their spine/nervous system and choose to do what they intuitively know is right.
- Due to the fantastic benefits and results patients get, they refer their families and friends in so that they too may achieve the same great outcomes.
- As more people get healthier our society as a whole gets better.
I am married to a beautiful lady called Lisa. Lisa is amazing in that firstly she married me and secondly is my best friend. I have had her unconditional support through thick and thin. We have four children Luke, Rachel, Campbell and Jonathon. The older three have all finished school and our youngest, Jonathon, is in high school. In my free time I enjoy scuba diving, camping, hiking, cycling, reading, movies, entertaining and being beaten by Jonathon at video games.
My family and I get adjusted twice a week, I run to keep fit and now also go for walks with my German Shepherd and a Japanese Spitz x Pomeranian.
